Fibre and network cabling in Fast2Host data centre — AS48825 edge infrastructure
Data centre aisle and containment — Cambridge Tier 3+ facility
AS48825 · UK-owned backbone · 20+ years in business

Own the route: Fast2Host on AS48825

We originate prefixes, engineer BGP/MPLS policy, and peer at LINX and LONAP — so your hosting, VPS, dedicated, and colocation traffic crosses an infrastructure stack we run end-to-end from our Cambridge data centre.

Corero-protected edge — 600Gbps class mitigation

Always-on DDoS scrubbing sits in front of our edge routers so volumetric and state-exhaustion attacks are filtered before they reach your VMs, metal, or colocation cross-connects — keeping legitimate sessions on-net.

Engineered latency

Hot-potato routing to UK eyeball networks and European hubs via diverse paths — AS48825 is tuned for predictable performance, not cheapest-mile wholesale blends.

Juniper MPLS core

Inter-site and peering-facing infrastructure is standardised on Juniper MX with dual routing engines; PoPs are meshed at 10Gbps+ with automated failover.

Edge scrubbing

Corero SmartWall appliances provide inline mitigation aligned with our transit and exchange ports — one policy surface from DDoS edge to your service VLAN.

LINX & LONAP

Public peering complements Tier-1 and specialist transit (e.g. Arelion, Cogent, GTT, Bandwidth Technologies) so you get both breadth of routes and control over prepends and communities where applicable.

Trust & sovereignty

AS48825 — a network we originate, peer, and defend

Fast2Host (legal entity Fast4networks Ltd) operates AS48825 as a production backbone — not a rebranded wholesale blend. Traffic from our Cambridge Tier 3+ data centre and London-facing PoPs rides Juniper MX routers with dual routing engines, diverse upstreams, and public peering at LINX and LONAP. Inter-site links run at 10Gbps or above; every edge path is built for failover, not “best effort” resale.

That same edge feeds web hosting, cloud VPS, dedicated servers, and colocation— one accountable NOC, one DDoS policy surface, one BGP story for compliance and operations teams who care how packets actually leave the UK.

Corero SmartWall TDS appliances scrub attack traffic in-line; our dual-stack IPv4/IPv6 topology extends across 550+ carrier and exchange adjacencies, including major UK eyeball networks present at Telehouse, Equinix LD8, and City Reach (DDCL).

Need leased lines, WAN, extended LAN, or BYOIP announcements to your rack? We scope ports, LOA, and routing — explore connectivity or open a ticket.

One edge for every workload

Whether you need managed shared hosting or raw rack space, AS48825 is the common denominator: identical DDoS posture, UK support, and routing discipline — scale up without re-architecting your supplier chain.

Web hosting

Linux and Windows stacks on CloudLinux with cPanel or Plesk — production sites and agencies that need managed TLS, backups, and UK support without operating BGP themselves.

Network — frequently asked questions

Technical answers for architects, NOCs, and buyers evaluating AS48825, peering, and how hosting attaches to our edge.

What is AS48825 and why does it matter for my services?
AS48825 is Fast2Host’s registered Autonomous System on the global Internet routing table. We originate our own prefixes, run a Juniper BGP/MPLS core, and peer at LINX and LONAP with diverse Tier-1 and specialist transit. Traffic to your hosting, VPS, dedicated, or colocation workloads rides a network we design, operate, and support — not an opaque third-party blend where routing policy is out of your supplier’s hands.
How does the network relate to web hosting, VPS, dedicated servers, and colocation?
Every service tier attaches to the same resilient edge: shared and reseller hosting, KVM cloud VPS, bare-metal dedicated servers, and colocation in our Cambridge facility all consume bandwidth, DDoS mitigation, and BGP policy from AS48825. You get consistent reachability, monitoring, and escalation paths whether you rent a cPanel account or a full rack.
What DDoS mitigation is deployed on the network?
We deploy Corero SmartWall TDS appliances for high-capacity, always-on scrubbing — engineered to drop attack traffic before it saturates your server or uplink. Capacity is sized for large volumetric events; specifics are covered under standard service terms for each product.
Where does Fast2Host peer and interconnect in the UK?
Our core interconnects include LINX and LONAP (among other paths), with presence at major London carrier hotels including Telehouse and Equinix LD8, plus diverse fibre into our Cambridge Tier 3+ data centre. That topology supports low-latency paths to London, UK eyeball networks, and onward international routes.
Can I bring my own IP space and have it announced?
Yes. We support BYOIP-style arrangements subject to RIR validation and technical checks — we can announce your prefixes from AS48825 where policy and routing design allow. Contact sales or open a ticket to scope prefix length, LOA, and any colocation or dedicated port requirements.
Is IPv6 supported end-to-end?
Our network operates a dual-stack architecture: IPv4 and IPv6 are supported across relevant hosting and connectivity products. We can advise on allocation, reverse DNS, and routing for your workload.
What uptime commitments apply to network-facing services?
We publish 99.99% uptime SLAs on applicable hosting and connectivity services, backed by redundant power and cooling in our Cambridge facility, diverse upstreams, and monitored BGP failover. Credits and exclusions are set out in your service schedule.
How long has Fast2Host operated this infrastructure?
Fast2Host has delivered UK hosting and connectivity for more than two decades (established 2001). We own and operate our AS48825 backbone and our Cambridge data centre — giving you direct accountability from fibre to platform.
